Purpose: Send us your original photograph of the Goliath Crane on the barge and as it sets sail
from the best or most creative vantage point. We’ll do our best to notify the public of the sail date
and time.
Prize: The grand prize is an autographed
copy of local historian and writer,
Steven Puleos, Dark Tide. It’s a riveting story
about the great molasses flood in Boston
in 1919. All other entries are eligible for use
in a future video. Don't be surprised to see this
become a movie!
Judging: The photos will be judged by the existing 3 photographers at GoliathCrane.com.
Submissions: Electronic submissions only. Just email us your photo, files should be in jpeg
format and no larger than 5Mb. Submit with “Goliath Goes to Sea” in the title, a short account of
the location taken from, photo gear details if available, photographer info, town and state from, age
if you like and a brief statement about what Goliath has meant to you if anything. Please, only three
submissions per person. Each submission should be a separate email.

Vantage points may be from land, sea and air. The Fore River Bridge, the shores of Weymouth,
Quincy, Hull and depending on weather or not the route is through the Cape Cod Canal there will be
opportunities to see it from the last point in Massachusetts. Once it hits the open ocean, it won’t be
seen again until it reaches Romania a month later. Please, only mild retouching in a photo editor is
requested, refer to Guidelines below.
2. Contest will close 30 days after the departure date. Winner to be announced by 5/20/09
3. All entries will be subject to use for a short departure video made later in the year.
4. Your electronic submissions grants GoliathCrane.com, its parent company, subsidiaries,
affiliates, partners and licensees use of the submission, including your name, hometown and
state. We reserve the right to modify, reproduce and distribute the material in any medium and in

One-step enhancement (such as "AutoFix", "QuickFix", "Auto Levels", etc.)
Use of filters to sharpen, soften, blur, despeckle, or remove noise.
Use of corrective functions to improve the natural appearance of the image, such as levels,
contrast, brightness, curves, intensity, tone, hue, saturation, lightness, value, color balance, and tint.
