The byproduct of cold war surplus
This base is steeped in wartime history. When a nearby airfield in Squantum, MA was on the closing schedule, a new area
was selected in Weymouth. Now, more than 60 years later, this 1300 acre gem in New England is on the fast track to being
developed into thousands of homes, commercial property and open space (aka - golf course). See the final days of the site.
Once home to many Blue Angels air shows and the anti-submarine Patriot Squadron VP-92.
The original main hanger doors once rode on these tracks. The cutoff I-beams are still visible in the concrete.
